Changes to Come

Assault on the Chief 2015x-1

The World right now is in an interesting state to say the very least. I believe that there’s been so many major historical events that we catalogue from the Pyramids, the Crusades to the discovery of fossil fuels… but what about now? I think we’ve reached a point in history where we will either be in the books forever… or even sad to say, never. Our lives have come to a point where what we decide to do and how  we choose to live could decide the entire fate of our existence. I’m not talking about earth’s existence… she’ll be around for a while, but rather the survival of the human race.

To deny climate change would be to plead complete ignorance; the changes in weather and our ecosystem as a whole… Yes the earth has been heating and getting set for another cleansing but it wasn’t due for… give or take another 55,000 years.

As humans we’ve learned to use logic over instinct and as much good as it’s brought us, it’s also showing us the paths in which we are sending ourselves, and that’s the path of self destruction… and in many different ways! Technology is amazing but our societal norms consist of constant phone gazing, disconnection with people despite being more connected than we’ve ever  been before! I find our evolutionary traits require eye to eye contact physical care and affection. An exchange of words over a screen can be powerful but it doesn’t touch the energy and connection the voice does when it touches the ear.

The day we discovered the use of fossil fuels we essentially began a launch into the future, surpassing technology jumps faster than ever before and continuing so. Really think about the societies we’ve built, dreams pursued but at costs we didn’t stop to think about or even potentially have realised. But I wouldn’t blame only fossil fuels on climate change, I mean there are many other factors but I believe the major one is our species and that we’ve moved ourselves into/ created an environment we haven’t evolved for.

Talk about stimulation… it’s everywhere. You have electric signs, flashy cars… non flashy one, clothing, but we also have cell phones and computers and consoles. I mean the list goes on, mind you we can “handle” the stimulation.

Take a moment and think about the people who go camping for a weekend and you hear ‘I feel so refreshed, I was so relaxed‘ you know? Something along the lines of that. That’s because biologically that’s our natural environment… we’re meant to be out in the woods experiencing fresh air and a place our mind can take in the natural wonders and simplicity of such complex organisms brought together as one.

Camping

To me our race are meant to be in small groups/ tribes. Think about Metropolises, the amount of social issues, illness and corruption there is and I believe it to be because of our loss of connection. We are surrounded by so many more humans but there’s so much less contact. Bands of people and very small towns, even at this time people know each other and connect with each other better than anyone else. Big cities people drone on by, in tribe like culture you are more likely to be accountable for your actions and the emotions of those you affect; I’d bet the emotional affection and stability in a small community is extremely high, as you see all the people around you become something as you do yourself.

Now I am 100% for renewable lifestyle and living to it the best you can but this isn’t what inspired me for the article, it’s the huge issue of Syrian refugees. There’s been a lot going on and it was kind of filled with msc information that was hard to see what the whole issues were. Our earth’s climate reached a point that caused a drought to eliminate millions of farming jobs, cascading crowding issues and social instability. All these things created an overbearing turmoil and essentially collapsed of a country.

This brings me pretty much to what I’ve pondered on a few times in the past couple of weeks/ months. As much as there’s disaster all over the world and I am by no means downplaying it, as it does pain my heart to see such tragedies and not be able to offer every bit of me I possibly could. I think Syria really brought my attention to it; maybe the gay liberties movement was the beginning or women’s right to vote or even men protesting to be topless at beaches in the early 1900’s…? Right now though… it’s really seeming like these Global calamities are bringing humanity together unlike any time before. I could possible see it as being the beginning of a new Golden Age. The sadness and horror being taken in and cared for globally,  people who never had the chance to help, beginning to offer spaces and compassion for those suffering in these misfortunes.

It kind of bums me out that it takes precious lives and souls to make us come together as a world, but at the same time it excites me that people are taking the prominent step to making this world a better symbiotic place.

Connecting

There’s always something you can do… it doesn’t even have to be much! You could smile at someone or open a door… maybe instead of rushing in traffic you offer someone space to pass ahead of you. Every actions of caring you spread to this earth can have everlasting effects that you may never see; You could be the difference of making someone smile and completing his interview with extra pizazz, or make her feel confident because a stranger smiled at them and she later met her twin flame. Basically that’s my rant and if there’s anything to take out of it… know that your kindness could change the world big or SMALL.

You may have been given a destiny, but it doesn’t mean you can’t choose how to live it – Justinn Parkinson

What is Success?

What is success… such a loaded question if you ask me. I had recently read an article talking about my generation (Millennials) starting to “set back” their career to enjoy life more.

I’ve talked about this topic with a few friends of mine as well, so what is the meaning of success? I guess in all reality there is not a specific definition… well I mean if you look it up it’s something along the lines of:

1. The favourable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavours; the accomplishment of one’s goals.

2. The attainment of wealth, position, honours, or the like.

But I mean inside of you, what do you feel success really is? To really sit down and think about it can really make you ponder some inquisitive things. Here in the Okanagan, you can see it really holds different values for many people. I see individuals with “Alberta Money” who buy huge homes on the cliffs or on the water, they have big boats and lots of toys to go with them… yet they only use it two to three months of the year. Sadly that’s their image of success is work very, very hard for most of the year and then play a little (I’m sure they play hard but compared to their work I view it as little). Don’t get me wrong some of these individuals love this and it works for them, but I couldn’t imagine spending the majority of my life working for such little enjoyment/fulfilment.

Is it money, "things"?

Is it money or “things”?

What do I see as success in my life? To start the less stress in life the better! But ultimately making a few really good friends, having a couple nice things… even then good company trumps material goods. I want to do things now when my body has the ability to recuperate after doing some crazy sport or trip or hike, I don’t want to wait until I retire before I start to enjoy my life. The experience I have are worth more than money can provide to me.

Is it being in the moment?

Is it being in the moment?

I read an argument about someone who’s an architect and that he’d spent a few years in school and another couple interning and is now in a job he enjoys working 40 hours a week, and will be able to enjoy himself before he retires because he worked hard. I applaud this person for his determination and enthusiasm but not everyone has the patience to do these things (Is financial security that really matters?). Does this make us lazy? Hardly, everyone has different ambitions and goals… and some of us just don’t have the mental capacity to break our backs for 8-10 years to finally start having fun and enjoying life… some of us want to live now because there may not be a tomorrow.

Moving to British Columbia I think was one of the best things I had decided to do, the people are such inspiration to grabbing life now and making the best of it!

Look from one generation to the next and see the contrast from Ethics to Fashion and Ideologies… they change constantly. I’d say every generation dating back hundreds of years think they had reached the best point in humanity, and that how they live is the way to be. Maybe each generation was right in their own respect but we are ever evolving intellectual creatures and will continue to change our values for many years to come.

Is it friends and special connections?

Could it be friends and special connections?

I originally wanted to talk about how I see success and what it means to me… but as I continued to write I just want to inspire others to stop for a minute and think about what success means to them. It might be a happy family, secure job, lots of money… or a life filled with amazing adventures with little to no money. There’s always something you can change in your life and never be afraid to do it… but it’s okay if you are because change is strange 😛 but your happiness is more important.

Success can take time and determination; my slacklining is a great example, I have people tell me how amazing I am (I know I have much further to go)… It really is very humbling because I can still remember the first day, the second, and even the third; I would get up and fall, and fall, and fall again. All I wanted to do was just stand and walk! If you’re going to be scared, you’re better off being afraid of doing something new than the same old thing!

11401138_10155692277075022_1123449313391917426_n

Is it doing something you love?

Success is what you make of it, if you’re not happy change something… it may not always about the best job or the most money, but to me, success is what brings you the most joy in your life without the sacrifice of your smile.

It seems I have lulls in my writing from time to time, but I manage to pull through and get back on. I do want to express my gratitude to everyone that provides feedback and who takes the time to read my posts regardless of time between each one.

I sit here with some fun instrumental music playing thinking of what I should write about… I have some idea’s yet it’s always difficult to figure out where to start. Funny thing is I usually write and feel like I don’t have much to share and then next thing I know I have to proofread 5 paragraphs :P.

Well to start he’s some awesome cheese fries I made the other day ^_^

Work has been pretty steady, lots of people quitting smoking and coming back super happy that they feel much better and save a ton of money. The only problem that I’ve been having is keeping things in stock. I’ve been pretty diligent in putting in orders before things are required… then Canada Post or for some other reasons things get held back. It’s pretty tough to run a happy customer base when you lack product that people want, I’m waiting almost two weeks or more to get things that I need. Regardless I’m plugging away and doing the best I can with what I’ve got.

Sagan has been pretty good and I recently picked up another kitty named Bella to keep him company when I’m not around. Things were iffy at first, Bella was really shy and Sagan just wanted so badly to be her friend. He would walk up ever so slowly to see how she was doing and say hello, but she would always hiss at him and swing a paw… funny seeing such a cute little cat look so menacing :P. After a few days they mutually began to chase each other which is nice. They aren’t really into cuddling each other which I was hoping would happen but only time will tell right! They do tend to mimic each other when they sleep or nap but it seems like right now they have a real love hate relationship.

I had a game night the other day but due to unfortunate circumstance it was cancelled so in the mean time I decided to Built a Kitty Castle… Catstle Dare is say :P. It’s done yet but the kitties like to play in it.

Lately I’ve been trying to make more of an effort to have less waste and using more natural products. I’ve started to make my own toothpaste and am offering it for sale as well. Glass containers and combo kit with compostable Bamboo toothbrush, at the very least I’ll have toothpaste without a ton of chemicals and no more wasteful toothpaste tubes.

I got my longboard re-gripped with a nice funky green tye dye pattern, I have to say it actually took some getting used to having full grip on my board… I have to semi re-learn my balance because now I have to lift my feet more instead of sliding them across the board.

Started to play Dungeons & Dragons with some friends and I find we mesh well, which is pretty exciting for me since as much as I like people… it’s exhausting to be around many people when you don’t share similar views or being around people who don’t respect them. Maybe it’s just me but I do a lot of conversing at work as it is, so I think I have my fill of “public”.

10906543_10155031979525022_4249645431228636799_n

D & D seems to have a sort of stigma attached to it or stereotype and to be honest it’s way more fun than I ever expected! It’s pretty much adult story telling with friends… when did we learn or become conditioned to lose our imaginations or story telling. Sure we can express it through other forms of art but I find creating stories really helps expand your mind and creativity… don’t bash it till you try it right!

I’ve been watching a ton of Dragon Ball the original series with subtitles, to be honest I think I like it better than the DBZ series… it’s comical and I love little Goku’s voice and reactions; such innocence <3. It’s really neat to learn how all the connections of the characters came about too ^_^.

Oolong, Bulma & Goku searching for the Dragon Balls

I also realised that Japanese culture conditions kids to sexual content and makes it less of taboo subject; to be honest I don’t even see it as a bad thing. It seems in North America sexuality is created to be a topic not to be spoken about, but that makes it so much more troubling to talk about when you have desires but feel they may be wrong. In reality they may be a common thing… I’m not speaking about anything specific but just in general… Some people feel certain ways and should never feel ashamed of how they feel or who they are. In life we need to be comfortable with who we are and not let society dictate who we become.

I think that’s all for now I hope to keep this motivation going for future posts, thanks again for all the support… hoping to motivate myself to get another Zoticusslife video up soon be sure to pester me about it ;).

Coexistence

A lot has happened in the recent month and a bit, I’ve done a lot of firsts which I plan to continue pursuing!

Blog-1Blog-1-2

The summer is finally here I attended a Solstice party with some friends around a fire, tried out paddleboarding which was an absolute blast and would suggest it to anyone. There has been many beach visits, backyard fires and it’s only the beginning of the summer <3.

Blog-3

I had the opportunity to use my Photoshop and photography skills lately which was rather exciting, in the sense that I was compensated for my efforts :). I did two posters for a friend that works at a youth centre and some photography for my buddy that’s an arborist. It’s nice to be able to use the talents you’ve “trained” in or made efforts to really learn; it’s a little bummy sometimes having to work a job that is really only a mean to make an end. I do really enjoy landscaping don’t get me wrong, I get to be outside in the nature take care of tree’s and properties and enjoy the sun and mountains, but there’s a point where your efforts deserve a little more recognition.

Dayton logo

I had a great conversation with my friend Sara and Dayton the other night about women equality in the workforce and how there is still a gap but that it’s closing. I made a point that I felt equality was evening out but in the sense that it’s my generation that’s evening it out… unfortunately we do not make up the majority of the work for at this point only having an age range from 18-28 for example vs. 28-60 . Maybe I’ve become complacent to the idea, but in all honesty I try to see it as there shouldn’t be a difference in the first place; we’re all human beings, we all breathe air and have thoughts and a conscience. By not having equal rights or working ability we are only stunting ourselves as a species… why cut our brain power 30/70 or what ever numbers you want to pull… it just doesn’t make sense. Pretty much what I’m getting at is don’t ever look at someone’s gender… you know what the only thing we should be doing is listening to everyone “Blindly” (in the sense it doesn’t matter what they look, hear or sound like) hearing what they have to say and analyse it all; it doesn’t matter if you’re female, male, gay, straight, black or blue, Buddhist or Muslim we all have a place on this planet and we should all be respected equally… We are all one and interconnected.

Brent and Ryan-1

Festival season is upon us and I’m counting down the days until I go on my festival journey… Actually I’m not counting the days I’m just going with the flow to hold down the over excitement. I have to say festival’s are what make my year… they are what reminds me that we are an amazing group of creatures on this planet and how we can really join together as one and just share so much love and fantastic company from strangers and friends alike. I can de-stress and flow free at festivals and enjoy nothing but great music, people, and just all around atmosphere. I’ve decided I will be hitchhiking this year to my festivals as to save money on gas, it should be a wonderful experience… will be sure to let you know how it went.

Blessed Times

The last week has been pretty amazing, especially the other day everything just seemed to fall into place.

Silverstar Day-4

First on the list of things, my landlord is back in town and winterizing the whole property including my Tree House; that means it will be nice and toasty in here when I do turn the heater on during snow season. I’m pretty fortunate that I really only have to turn on the heater every so often since the Tree House holds heat rather well.  Patrick and I had some good conversations and I expressed how amazing this place is and that he should count on receiving steady rent checks from me.

I had a few days off that were pretty relaxing, I forgot how fun days off are when you actually work… it kind of gives you something to look forward to after a few days of pushing yourself to do great!

Fog over Vernon

Fog over Vernon

During one of the days off I managed to nab myself a set of Encyclopedia’s… for free! They look fantastic and the owner was just going to bring them to the dump, I’m pretty happy with them so far. Going to get these books was pretty much what started my adventures up Silver Star road; the fog has been pretty heavy as the weather is slowly converting to Winter and I had to jump on the opportunity to take pictures (see photo above for reference).

These were free!

These were free!

I’m sure there was a lot more things that were some what eventful but yesterday just trumped it all. I’d have to say it was just one great thing after another… Also I didn’t write much on my blackboard this week.

The day started off by waking up to a video of the girl I’ve been talking to, which we’ve been connecting really well (I’ll explain kind of what happened in my next blog). I was a bit worried that I was to be another victim of Catfishing.

“A catfish is someone who pretends to be someone they’re not using Dating sites or other social media to create false identities, particularly to pursue deceptive online romances”.

I won’t get into the boring details but it has happened to me before so naturally I was cautious… but I digress. The morning was nothing but smiles, it’s hard to explain the emotion… I was relieved and happy to say the least, maybe a bit giddy.. go ahead laugh ;). Following that I had a nice breakfast then headed up Silver Star Rd for some pictures.

Silverstar Day-1 Silverstar Day-2

Silverstar Day-6 Silverstar Day-9

I stopped at a little subdivision that was on a hill that looked over the city but the fog was a lot stronger than I had previously experience a few days prior… it made for more challenging photo’s and it was a bit chilly out, but I made do with what I had.

Silverstar Day-7 Silverstar Day-8 Silverstar Day-3

I had taken some pretty impressive photo’s, they impressed me anyway! I decided to head further up the mountain to see what I could get for a different vantage point and that’s when I decided to do a time-lapse for you. The intention was to show everyone have neat the fog looked, as I kept driving I cleared the fog and the sky was blue without a single cloud. What a surprise it was the higher I went, keep in mind I’ve never actually gone to the top to Silver Star Resort.

I had finally made it to the top where the Resort is and what a strange and cool little city it is up there, the houses look like something out of a movie and in the Winter it will probably look like the North Pole with elves running around… you’ll have to follow the blog to find out! I pulled up and there were huge mountain in the distance with massive peaks and snow on them. I left everything in my car but my camera and went for a nice little walk.

Silverstar Day-10

After I did some rummaging through some bushes and paths I found a nice peaceful area that the mountains just blew open, it was nothing short of breathtaking. I found a comfy spot and decided to shoot a V-log (Video Blog). This is a new experiment and I think it’s kind of fun so let me know what you think… and don’t forget to share! Oh yeah it was like another world above the fog/ clouds… I could have worn a T-shirt and shorts it was so warm.

Silverstar Day-11 Silverstar Day-12 Silverstar Day-13

After spending some quality time in Nature and just listening to the sounds of the wind and the mountains it was time to head home. It would have been really cool to have filmed my way down but my camera battery was dying… fail on my part for not charging it earlier. Heading down the mountain I stopped once or twice to pull off some great photo’s hoping my camera wouldn’t die. As I descended I had my windows open, wind breezing and a giant smile. As I continued downward I actually had to shut the windows because the temperature drop through the fog and under the clouds was astonishing… like I said a whole other world.

Silverstar Day-14 Silverstar Day-16 Silverstar Day-17

I got home and spoke to my friend Satyama who does massage therapy, it was also her 40th Birthday and she looks great for 40. We talked about me getting a massage since my back was still sore from the 3 months of futon sleeping, she said let’s do it now; I procured some money and went for my therapy session. Satyama has done a lot of learning from around the world (Eastern Culture) and does Chakra clearing as well during the massage; I have to tell you I have never had such an amazing massage in my life!

Silverstar Day-5

Thanks for checking in again and let me know what you think of the V-logs. Don’t forget I’m opening up guest posting and to shoot me an email, the info is on the side bar at the top.

Long Haul

It’s been a month and a day since my last post… I would like to apologize for such a long time between posts but things have gotten rather crazy and there’s much to update you on.

So the whole Electric Forest thing has been benched, and it has made me extremely sad but it was benched for good reason. For anyone who doesn’t know I actually just moved out to Edmonton, Alberta. I had been looking online for work and wanted to move out West for a while. I had a friend that said I could crash with her until I got back onto my feet which was a huge help! I received an email about a job offer I called them up and had a quick interview over the phone… 4 hours later a call back came and I was hired.

Edmonton1b

It was a Wednesday when I got the call and job offer and I was asked to start on the up coming Monday, and I wasn’t about to turn it down. I was super excited I told my mom… she wasn’t too happy; she was happy but not pleased I would be leaving within days and without preparation. I didn’t mind the lack of prep. it’s who I am I go and journey forward. The drive to Edmonton is a 30 hour drive from Windsor Ontario, I actually went through the U.S. because it’s 12 hours faster.

Here’s where things get interesting I had paid for a show in Detroit that was on the Friday night… that left me with less than 72 hours before I work my new job across the country! For one I got the tickets super cheap $10 for early bird and for 2 really great artist (Bare & Bar9). Getting $10 tickets to see these DJ’s is like getting $10 tickets to see The Doors or Kelly Clarkson. The venue was super small maybe 200 people tops could fit in there. It was such a small venue I had a chat with the 2 DJ’s and got they signatures… on my shoes (I had nothing else). Anyway I went to the show and left around 3AM the next day straight from the show… I was actually wired, the show was phenomenal and I just wanted to keep partying so instead I drove for hours… even made it past Chicago, and let me tell you it was worth it; I saw the most beautiful red sunrise and the city of Chicago glimmer around.

bar9 Bare

I had to drive for as long as possible without taking breaks which I knew would be tough because when I lived in London just driving two hours from Windsor to London was a chore! Surprisingly my stints were averaging around 4-6 hour periods. I ended up only resting for about 2 hours at a time, I just couldn’t stay asleep longer it was way too hot and such a nice day out. A lot of the stops when I started to get really tired or hungry I pulled out my longboard which seemed to energize me huge. During the whole trip I felt a weird mixture of sickness and hunger, it was almost impossible to eat but I was sick because I hadn’t eaten; I knew the only way I could fix the issue was by sleeping… but I just didn’t have time to sleep.

936561_10152909462720022_158538838_n

Driving through Wisconsin was probably the hardest part I felt like the road was never-ending. Three to four hours would go by on the road and there was still another 20+ or 15+ or 10+ hours to go… I felt like I was going to be driving for a week. Oh yeah did I mention it was kind of boring for scenery but much more exciting than south of London Ontario. I have to say that Minnesota was on of my favorite parts despite being one of the longest legs, it had such beautiful sites. North Dakota was nice as well but it got really dark because it was around 2 in the morning. I wanted to make it to Saskatchewan (Canada) before I took a rest. Unfortunately I was getting dangerously tired and finally found a rest stop…. it was massive there was even a restaurant attached, I decide to get some more fruit to eat (better than most gas station food right?). Then I forced my self to get some food to fill up on… real food not just gas bar stuff. All the food sounded so good I was so tired and had been driving for close to 18 hours the server probably thought I was high. I got some ham and egg sandwich that was super greasy, I finished it down with some chocolate milk. It was very hard to eat it all but I knew my body needed it. After everything I took another one of my two-hour power naps, the only thing was this time my body didn’t want wake up because it was cold out (around 3 AM) I was actually getting real rest. I got myself back up and headed North to the Great White Canada (not actually snowy where I was going ). I finally hit Saskatchewan got through customs with ease they check my car real quick and we talked about my trip and I was off. It’s a good thing I took a break when I did because there was no service stations for a few hours! Sask. needs to put up more speed signs I saw barely any every 20 or so miles.

Part 2 coming soon! keep following.

Me working oh so hard! (It was actually really really hot that day)

Christmas in Haiti was definitely not something I’m used to, for example the snow that Windsor (home) got it was for sure too hot here for snow… pushing 85 Fahrenheit maybe more. The morning started by Emily’s friends coming over and picking her up and throwing her in the car… well not throw but you get the jyst/gist? of it. Then they told me to get in or they’ll do the same to me, all in good fun. So that whole morning the joke was Emily and I were kidnapped (Don’t worry there was people at the house watching the kids). The morning was great it was definitely a twist on the Holidays, we partied to music on the radio and stopped at a barber shop type hang out, had a Prestige or 2 and then were bought free food :). After wards we were dropped back off at home… best holiday kidnapping ever!

Emily went home to Canada on the 26th so that leaves me with the kids; Val and the nanny are still here. Emily and I had kind of talked before I came to Haiti about me staying here while she goes to Canada for a bit so that she can relax and get some family time. Although I already missed Xmas with family, won’t be spending New Years with them or friends and unfortunately missing my sister’s, brother’s & mum’s birthday, I’m kind of okay with it. I understand these are big events back home but since being in Haiti I find a lot of things back home as much as fun as they are don’t need to have such importance “forced” upon them.

Just the other day I was on Skype listening to a disciplinary argument and the person being spoken to was trying to defend themselves to the teeth which really wasn’t necessary, really she should have just accepted her mistake and moved on; she wasn’t even in any trouble. One of my concerns for when I return home is how frustrated I’m going to get when I hear people complain. Before I ever came to Haiti I was already really laid back and usually just accepted things if I had done something wrong and went from there. Since being in Haiti I think it may drive me crazy hearing people complain about stuff and just become frustrated with them. I understand that they have probably never dealt with sporadic power that the government decides when you need it, or to pay for water to take showers and if you run out you have to wait for the water truck, or especially worry about purchasing clean drinking water as to not get Cholera of Malaria. I’m not saying you can’t complain just try and think about what you’re actually complaining about; but I digress.

Let’s lighten up the mood of this blog! So Emily went home the other day and I have to try and come up with some activities for the kids while she’s gone. The kids got a bike for Christmas and the training wheels came off the same day, our yard isn’t really flat, there’s a big slope so it just caused issues for learning to ride on 2 wheels. The boys have already figured out how to ride on 2 wheels but today Jenny tried and she wasn’t able to. I attempted to teach her and she got a little better but eventually gave up. I understand the frustration because there isn’t much room to practice especially trying to learn on a hill.

So example of sporadic power… the power went out, the computer shut off and I lost half of my blog. I re-wrote it as best as possible but now using the solar charger. Don’t forget to be thankful and try and drop the petty arguments you have with co-workers or friends :). Just want to add don’t feel sorry because it’s not what you’re used to, just be thankful.

I attempted to watch a movie with a few of the kids, I have to say it wasn’t as fun as I expected. Christine for one never stops talking… as usual and Norens likes to stick his head in front of the screen, even when you tell him to move back he does but only for 2 minutes before he slowly creeps back in front of it again. Despite all the troubles I faced watching a movie with them it was not that bad. Oh I forgot to mention half way through the movie they get bored and want to watch another movie… Oh they joy… to be honest I don’t think I’d ever been so excited for a movie to end. Lesson learned just let them watch a movie on their own, and I’ll watch movies by my self.

Powers back on 🙂

This afternoon Maeve and I went to the market so we could pick up some food and so I could get some apples for Val. We ended up getting as Maeve puts it “Crunchy Bread” (baguette) and ham with cream cheese. Got home and made some super delicious sandwiches… I’m not saying spaghetti and hot dogs aren’t super yummy (inset sarcasm font to previous statement)-_- , but the sandwich’s were amazing! I also got some mini Reese’s peanut butter cups… they melted by the time we got home but I tossed em’ in the freezer and they should be good to eat soon! (They were scrumptious)

The chicken eggs I’ve been talking about… I don’t think they’re going to hatch -_-. Val says give it another week I think he’s wrong, it’s already been more than 21 days that it usually takes for eggs to hatch. One more week and I’m tossing them and Ms. Chicken can give it another go.

If you’ve been following my Facebook at all here and there I mention getting hot dogs from the street/ around the corner and Emily keeps joking about getting Cholera or something of the sort here’s what they look like… But they taste AMAZING! (For those who think joking about Cholera and Malaria are not funny… it’s just a humour you pick up in Haiti. You have to try and make your own comedic relief)

“What’s a great adventure without someone to share it with?”

Thanks everyone for following! Here’s some neat photo’s I took the other night.
